I sent the Obit for Rob Miller to all former Galva people on my email address book;  who may remember Rob.  He sure had a hard battle like Mike Looney.
Glad to hear the snow is gone in Galva and that the robins are there on schedule.

Good to hear from you Sandy.  And glad to hear that you are walking.  You've had quite a time lately.  Hope you are healed up and keep on going from there!     Sun is shining.  We slept in because we didn't get back from McClurg until late.  Rushing around and doing some quick cleaning before we get into the rest of the day.  Have a good one.

Sandy
Snow finally all gone here in Normal, IL.  Think the rain helped wash it away.  Thought we would get sun yesterday, but it was gloomy.  Today, the sun is out and the temp is nice.  So nice, I took my great niece (almost 4 months old) out for a stroller ride.  It was just too much for her; she fell asleep 1/2 way into the walk.  Just too cute!  Hope the remainder of March will be nice weather and no more gloomy stuff.

Glad to hear that the snow is gone in Galva.  And that weather is good in Florida.  The sun did shine here today and it was warmer so maybe the weatherman got it wrong!?   Just got home from McClurg.  Huge crowd.  We had about 7 students from Murray State in KY who were visiting here over spring break.  Wonderful musicians and singers.  Sang the old gospel song "Farther Along We'll Understand Why" acapella.   You could have heard a pin drop.

It was a beautiful weekend. Lot of people out walking. I went a brought and planted some flowers. Spring is here I guess. Going to be warm all week, may have scattered showers on wednesday. Thats ok. I had a man come and do some of my yard work. Lot of dead plants from the freeze. Some plants are coming back to life others not. Glad all the snow is gone in Galva.  I'll be back there the end of May for a few days before heading west. Hope everyone has a good week.

SNOW IS GONE--I REPEAT SNOW IS GONE in Galva.  I has been a long winter.  A few robins have arrived.  Can spring be far behind?.  There are even patches of green grass here and there.

Okay.  Who gave permission for this yucky weather??   And then they say it's going to be this way all week.  NOOOOO!!!

Glad you all are having nice weather in Florida.  Send some our way.  It was cold and cloudy today.  Went to the semis in Poplar Bluff.   Thayer girls are going to state finals after a rough and ready game.  They fought back and won it by 11 points.   The boys game was a blowout but we stayed to see a team from Southeast MO(the Bootheel) knock the socks off their opponent.  They were just super---never saw such running on the court---and for the whole game.   They are definitely on the "to see" list next week.

Finally quite rainning. I had three and a half inches. We needed the rain. Now the weeds can grow. Think I'll go and buy some flowers and plant them. Surpose to be nice all weekend and next week. It was a good day today to stay in and do nothing. Coffee and donuts tomorrow morning at club house. People will start pretty soon to go back north.  %9 degrees tonight and 70 this weekend. Perfect weather. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Remember to set your clocks ahead this weekend.

Not-so-pretty-day today.  Looks and feels like rain, and...it is very cool.  Took some pictures to send to eastern MO.  We bought an old box and it has writing in old script German in the lid.  We took it up to Herrman and a volunteer  there could read some of it.  Then we found a German Heritage Center in eastern MO, near St. Louis, where college interns are doing translation.  We took the box lid there yesterday and the director told us to take pictures and send them.  So we did.  We have an older digital camera and I hope they turn out OK.  We'll see.

Been on the road again.  (Does that sound like a Willie Nelson tune?)   Headed out for Poplar Bluff, three hours from here, via Arkansas.  Beautiful day yesterday and enjoyed all the sights along the way.   Games at Poplar Bluff were excellent.   I always say when kids get to this stage of the basketball season, i.e.  state finals etc., they either are hitting their peak or have passed it.   The Thayer girls were impressive in a great win.  The Norwood boys started strong and then ran into tough defense and their shots were not on the mark.  We will go back on Saturday for the quarterfinals---then on to Columbia for the finals.  I know that this is boring to some of you but-----I LOVE basketball.

Had a meeting with some of my PEO sisters last night.  It is so great to have younger women involved in PEO.  We have lots of great plans.  International Convention is in St. Louis in 2011, so we are making plans to have a big showing from Chapter JP.  How about you guys in Galva?  St. Louis isn't all that far.  I'm saving up my pennies in a special fund.
