Wow,Wayne, that's a lot of rain.  We had a little off and on on Tuesday, but just enough to keep us mowing the grass.
We're going to Springfield to shop and see a movie and just hang out.  We'll enjoy the fireworks from our deck when we get home.  Hope everyone has a fabulous and safe 4th!

Never seen so much rain. My neighbors rain gages showned we have had 13 inches since last tuesday. And it pouring out right now. I'm not doing anything for the 4th. I'll sit in my yard and watch the fireworks at Clearwater Beach and over at Tampa. They are both have a good displays. BQ at club house Saturday but only 7 signed up for it. So it probably be cancelled. Got my computer back this afternoon. Works a lot better.

Had one of those days at quilting today.  Had to take out some stitches three times.  It is the quilt we are doing for a fund raiser.  Very easy, but very big.  And it is hard for me to make a straight line with my stitches when I'm just guiding on the seamline of the block.  I checked out my needle to see if it was bent.  I guess I needed to check out my eyes---maybe they need to be adjusted.!!

Andy had a surreal experience yesterday.  He was coming back after getting a flat repaired at the station.  Stopped at the stop sign and looked across the intersection at the car stopped opposite him.  He said,"It looked like Chew Baca(from Star Wars) with dark glasses on."  He kept looking --- could not figure out what in the world was driving that car.  Then the woman driver found what she was looking for in her purse and raised her head----where, of course, she had shoved her sunglasses.  We laughed and laughed.

Picked up the weekly shoppers to check for auctions.  Several are tempting.  But do we really want to fry in the sun just to haul more stuff home??  I don't think so.  Better idea---take the lawn chair and my book and go sit in the shade at the creek.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Had a meeting for Bible School last night.  Has been a long time since I helped but a friend pleaded with Andy and me to be a part of it so we are.  It is a program which many churches down here are using called Paul and the Underground Church:Rome.  Andy and I are going to be doing the Grammaticus Shop in the Marketplace.  Andy will teach how to use the abacus and I will be teaching Latin.  Ho,ho.  Fifty years since I've cracked a Latin book---this should be fun??!!   I bought Latin for Dummies and I think I'll have enough to tide me over.  Wish me luck!!

And another hot day.  Good thing we walk shortly after sunrise or we couldn't make it up and down the hill.  As it is, we are soaked to the skin by the time we get home.  Then work in the garden until it is unbearable.  Then inside for the rest of the day.  Not as tough as we were when we were kids.

The rain has been all up here, Wayne.  Sure hope they get some down my way...but rainy season is upon them down there so you will get it too.  The ponds were so low when I left and the ducks were flying into the pools...great!  Off to Midland now to swim.

We got rain finnaly. Regular big storm. I have never saw so much lightning and thunder in all my life. Had lot of wind to, rained cats and dogs to. Some of the old timers were say they had never  seen it this bad. Trees down, trash all over. Only 90 out now, but humid. They are saying more rain today. We need the rain. Still have water restrictions for next month to.

Midland pool is open today...but they let me know just was I was leaving to go to the Y....so will go tomorrow.  Probably too hot to sit out after swim and get a good burn...no 'trade-winds' here...just hot and still...not like Florida...lol
Came out of Y...my car temp was 109....grrrrrrrr  and I had reflectors on my windshield too and left windows down a little too...SUMMER has arrived with vengence....hehe

Thanks,Cherie, for the pictures of the ethanol plant.  Quite impressive.  They voted down the one they were planning on building near  Springfield.  Not much corn grown down here and the logistics of fuel and water made it hard to sell.
Hot,hot, hot here too.  Went to McClurg last night but ate and sat outside until we left shortly before 10.  Had lots of visitors and it was so uncomfortable inside even with fans going.  I could hear the music and various people came out and we visited.  I told Andy that I wasn't going to go next week if it was this hot.   What's the temp like in your neck of the woods?---Anyone?

Heat Advisory In Effect Until 7pm Tuesday Night

6/22/2009

By late Tuesday morning temperatures will warm up into the low to mid 90s with dew points in the low to mid 70s, making for widespread hear index readings of 100 to 112degrees over most of the area. A heat advisory means that a period of hot temps and high humidity is expected. This combination will lead to possible heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors especially the elderly. The heat advisory will be in effect until 7pm tonight.

Warm here in Galva too.  Came out from swimming and my car temp said 120 degs....and I had the reflectors over my windshield too... and it is in mid-90's...SUMMER IS HERE...
but I'm not complaining...been just too cold up here for too long...lol

I think you and I have the same problem with our computers,Wayne.  Mine won't stay connected either.  But it takes spells of working so I am holding off taking it to my computer guy.  I think I really just need a new one.  But maybe not.
Hot as blazes here.  Up near 100 for the third day in a row.  We worked out in the garden until 10.  Walked early, early.   We are going to McClurg tonight.  May sit out on the porch and listen to the music inside.  Everyone stay cool if it is hot where you are.
